How line-art upscaling works

ToolsTap Line Art Upscaler increases pixel dimensions using the browser’s high-quality image interpolation, then applies adjustable edge sharpening. This can improve the appearance of line drawings and diagrams when enlarged, but it is not AI super-resolution and cannot recover original details that are absent from a low-resolution image.

Recommended settings for clean outlines

Start with 2× scale and mild sharpening. Increase to 3× or 4× only when the output dimensions remain reasonable. Optional black-and-white cleanup can remove grey antialiasing for clean ink drawings, but should stay disabled for colour illustrations, textured paper and pencil shading.
