JPG, PNG or WebP. A small image is recommended for the first test.

The quantized AI model downloads on first use and is cached by your browser. Your image is processed locally in this tab.

For browser memory safety, 2× supports up to 4 megapixels and 4× up to 1 megapixel.

If the runtime or model fetch fails, the failed loader is reset so you can retry without reloading the page. Access to the configured JavaScript CDNs and Hugging Face is required.

How AI image upscaling works

ToolsTap AI Image Upscaler runs a pretrained Swin2SR lightweight super-resolution model directly in your browser. It creates a 2× resolution output; 4× mode runs a second pass on that result. This can improve visible sharpness and detail, but AI output may invent or alter small details and cannot guarantee the exact original scene.

For better results

Start with a smaller, clean JPG, PNG or WebP file. If model download fails, press Upscale Image again after checking the internet connection and content filters. The first model download can take a while. Large outputs need more browser memory.
